Privacy Policy

last updated: 2026-10-07

Your photos never leave your device.

Cropping and saving both happen on device.

Photos

The app receives the one photo you pick in the photo picker, take with your camera app, or share from another app, and crops and resizes it on your device only. Photos are never sent to a server and never used for ads.

Faces

The app does not detect or analyze faces. It does not remove backgrounds or retouch faces. The top-of-head, eye and chin lines on screen are fixed guides for you to line up.

Saved files

JPG files you save or share contain no metadata such as location or camera details. Files are saved only where you choose.

What stays on your device

While you work, a copy of the photo you picked and the results are kept in the app cache. They are deleted when you go back to the start screen, and any left over are deleted the next time the app opens after one hour. The app cannot delete anything while it is closed, which is why we put it this way. No photo history or account data is kept.

Accounts

There are no accounts. We do not collect your email or phone number, and there is no sign-in, sign-up or in-app purchase.

Advertising

This app is supported by ads. Google AdMob serves them, and in the process your advertising ID (AAID), IP address, device information, and ad-related app activity (such as how many ads you saw and whether you tapped one) are collected by and shared with Google. Your IP address can be used to estimate coarse location at the country level. Your photos are never used for ads and are never transmitted. See policies.google.com/technologies/ads for details.

When ads appear

Choosing a size, cropping and previewing have no ads. You watch one ad when you save or share a cropped photo, and one when you save or share a print sheet, and we tell you before it starts. A small banner sits at the bottom of the start screen.

Opting out of personalized ads

In Android Settings → Privacy → Ads you can delete your advertising ID or turn off personalization. Ads will still appear, but they will not be personalized.

Permissions

Only internet access, used to fetch ads and send usage statistics. We do not request camera or photo library permissions. The app only receives the one photo you choose through the system photo picker or your camera app. No contacts, location or microphone permissions either.

Usage statistics

To improve the app and place ads sensibly, we collect usage statistics with Google Analytics for Firebase. How often and how long you use the app, which features you use (for example opening a file, or watching an ad to save), ad impressions, device model, OS version, app version, country, language, a random identifier tied to each app install and the advertising ID are sent to Google. Your photos and their file names are never sent. We also use Firebase Remote Config to change ad settings without an app update, which sends the app version, OS version, country and language. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, nothing that identifies your device is stored unless you consent.

Third parties

Apart from Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase (see Usage statistics) we use no other analytics or crash reporting, and no external service can see your photos.

Children

ID Photo is not directed at children under 13. The app does not send your photos anywhere, but when ads are shown Google AdMob collects an advertising ID, IP address, and device information. That is why this app is not built for children.

Deleting your data

Working copies in the app cache are deleted as described above, and uninstalling removes all of them. Files you saved are wherever you chose to save them, and you can delete them there. No copy remains on any server. You can delete your advertising ID yourself in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.

There is nothing for us to delete

This app has no server holding your data. Copies on your device disappear when the app deletes them or you uninstall, and your advertising ID is held by Google, so we can neither look it up nor delete it. Rather than offer to delete data on your behalf, we have written down above how to remove it yourself. Questions: dev@indieway.xyz

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update this page with a new date. Contact: dev@indieway.xyz. If you email us through Contact us in the app, we use your email address, your message, and the app and device details added at the end of the message (app version, Android version, device model, app language, theme and font size) only to reply to you.
